Spanish Magazine: El Cascanueces
How much do you know about El Cascanueces?
The nutcracker, the tool that helps us crack the nuts, has been around for more than 8000 years. It’s believed that they were created by nomadic tribes. But if we are a little bit honest, the only thing that we pretty much know about nutcrackers is the Christmas ballet that we enjoy every season.
So we went on a world search to Germany, Russia, and the United States, looking for the history behind this Christmas classic. The team read the Cascanueces history a lot of times, listened to the music of this classic tale, and read articles and books about the topic. We also went to some Nutcracker museums to understand the evolution of this tool through history, as well as to observe gigantic collections of nutcrackers. Of course, I went to a lot of Nutcracker ballets and interviewed some dancers for this issue.
