Nina and Eve Travels Around the World

Do you often travel with books with your children? Does your child feel excited for the main characters to explore a new area and have some adventures during their trips? Have you and your little one ever traveled with a pet?

Nina and Eve.

Nina and Eve’s Adventure stories are about the exciting adventures of an 11-year-old girl Nina and her funny, loyal dachshund Eve. They travel around the world. They venture to a fantastic sea coast with a blue lagoon in Oludeniz in Turkey, to a magnificent European city Vienna in Austria, and to an exotic island in the middle of the Indian ocean, in Reunion Island. Apart from discovering these destinations and learning about different cultures, children learn to be brave, kind and loving. They learn that with a loyal pet friend and support of your family they can overcome any difficulties.

Nina and Eve. First Trip to the Sea

In the first book “Nina and Eve. First Trip to the Sea.” Nina and her family take their dachshund Eve to the beach for the first time. They enjoy their new destination a lot. Nina rides her gyro scooter and buys Turkish ice-cream. Have you tried it? By the way, buying an ice-cream in Turkey is an exciting experience. While getting one, an ice cream vendor plays with it, making different exciting tricks, and only after that gives it to you. They also wear special national costumes.

While Nina buys the ice-cream, her parents decide to let Eve run around the beach. Eve loves running. She is a very active, playful and joyful dog. It’s her first time on the beach and, suddenly, she sees a seagull.  Children learn about the dachshund’s hunting gene. Sometimes, these dogs can’t think about anything else, but their prey. Eve jumps into the sea and starts to swim after the bird. However, Eve isn’t good at swimming. She has never swum in the open sea with waves…Nina and her parents are really scared for their pet. Eve keeps chasing the seagull and swims ahead. Nina is trembling… What will happen? How will they rescue Eve?

Nina and Eve at the Schonbrunn Palace.

In this story Nina and Eve travel to Vienna, Austria. Nina has dreamt of going to that historical magnificent European city for a long time. After Nina’s friends give her a guidebook about Vienna as a gift and her parents notice that, they buy tickets to Austria. It’s a pleasant surprise for Nina. In Vienna the family stay near the Schonbrunn Palace, Nina and Eve’s adventure happens there. They walk and jog while enjoying the park and don’t notice how the gate has been closed. They are locked inside the park. The gate is too high to climb over and it’s getting dark fast… What will Nina and Eve do to get out and not to disturb the parents who have gone to the opera theater. In this story young readers also learn about the oldest zoo in the world in Vienna and about an Imperial Birthday Party that can be organized for children in the palace.

You can complete this fun activity from Chapter 5.

“Nina and Eve in the Middle of the Indian Ocean.”

Nina and Eve in the Middle of the Indian Ocean.

This time Nina and Eve fly to the exotic French island of Reunion in the Indian Ocean. It’s a far away place with its authentic culture. Actually, it’s a melting pot of many nationalities that live together happily. Children get to know about the French traditions of kissing each other on the face while greeting, about coffee and croissants for breakfast, swimming pool parties, as well as about Ukrainian traditional art. The characters visit many amazing places, such as a Vanilla Garden, where they learn how vanilla grows. Do you know that it should be hand-pollinated? It takes 3-4 years for vanilla to flower.

Also, Nina, her parents and Eve go hiking to the volcano Piton de la Fournaise. It’s a book full of action.   Luckily, its lava flows into the ocean when it wakes up. They visit these places while searching for the lost puppy of their new friend Elisabeth. Would you like to join their island adventures?
