Cine Latino Minneapolis

Cine Latino Film Festival in Minneapolis is an annual celebration in honor of Hispanic heritage month organized by the MSP Film Society.  This celebration brings together film lovers and culture enthusiasts from all walks of life.  From October 11th to 15th, 2023, this annual event takes center stage, showcasing the rich tapestry of Latin American, Ibero, and US Latinx stories, talents, and perspectives on the big screen for kids and adults.

If you’re a parent raising bilingual kids or a global citizen who wants to expose yourself and your children to different cultures, Cine Latino Film Festival in Minneapolis is a must-attend event. It’s an opportunity to broaden horizons, ignite curiosity, and inspire a love for storytelling in your kids.

Curated by New York International Children’s Film Festival, ¡Hola Cine! Will take place Sunday, October 8th, 2023 at the Minneapolis Institute of Arts during their Family Day.  Spanish-language Latin short films will be shown between 10:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. for FREE, so kids can connect with their culture, and other kids can learn from Spanish speaking countries.

Each one of the films has the themes of family unity, perseverance and magic.  This year the countries represented are:  Argentina, Mexico, Estados Unidos, España, Colombia, and Chile between others. Most films are in Spanish with subtitles in English.

Movies about tango, from Argentina, visiting rural places of Mexico in Puebla to the life of the legendary Spanish filmmaker Pedro Almodovar will engage you in thought-provoking conversations about the stories seen on screen.

Members of the MSP Film society have free entrance to movies.  For everyone else tickets are available to purchase at the Main Cinema website.
